A Thought

Do you ever feel like your faith has failed you? Do you ever feel weak and tired and like you can’t go on? I’ve got some good news for you. It’s not about how YOU feel, but about what Christ has promised. Feelings come and go. Sometimes we feel great and other times we feel awful, but how you feel doesn’t let you know whether you are loved by God and by others.Despite being redeemed by Christ on the cross, we’re still sinners. We still sin daily, but we don’t celebrate on certain days because we are able to “hold on” to Jesus. Instead, we celebrate every day because Jesus always holds on to us. In Deuteronomy 31:6, God tells the people of Israel, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” That didn’t mean that God’s people would never have troubles in their life, but God would always be with them even in tough times. Through Christ, the same is true for us. We have been made God’s people through Christ in the waters of baptism and he continues to hold on to us forgiving us and bringing us closer to him every day.
