BASIC is the name of Immanuel Lutheran Church’s youth group.  BASIC stands for “Brothers and Sisters in Christ.”  Our youth group is open to all youth who are in grades 6-12.

What does BASIC do?
In line with what Paul told a young pastor named Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12 (“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”), we strive to bring up junior high and high school students who are disciples of Christ acting as believers in their speech, their life, their love, their faith, and in their purity. During the School year there is a youth night for all junior high and senior high youth on the third Sunday of each month from 6-8pm in the youth room.

In addition to our regular meetings, BASIC youth also participate in:

  • Bible studies and devotions
  • Servant projects
  • Circuit, district, and national youth gatherings
  • Fun stuff (hayrides, bonfires, laser tag, paintball, lock-ins, baseball games, bowling, and lots of other…well…fun stuff)
  • Fund raising for various events, projects, and retreats.
