Children

We are committed to the Christ-centered education of our children as Scripture teaches.

The Lord says, “…bring (your children) up in the training and instruction of the Lord” Eph 6:4 and, “make disciples of all nations, baptizing…and teaching them to cling to all I have commanded you” Matt 28:19-20. We know this is vital because God’s Word “brings life, and brings it abundantly” John 6:68. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” Ps 119:105.

In light of the teachings found in Scripture we provide various educational opportunities for children.

  • Sunday School classes begin at 9:00am every Sunday.
    • Preschool – 2nd grade students meet in the education building
    • The 3rd – 8th grade students meet in the church building. A week of Vacation Bible School (VBS) is held annually in the month of June.
    • Did you know that our offerings go to a different organization each month?  Click here for a list.
  • Immanuel Lutheran Church supports a Preschool program, which runs from Sept. – May with registration open to  children ages 3-4. Register Now!
  • Children in the 5th – 8th grades are encouraged to join our Wednesday evening Midweek Confirmation Classes. They convene during the school year and meet from 6:30 to 8:00pm. The 7th and 8th grade classes are required for those children seeking to be confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

The Board of Education of Immanuel Lutheran Church would invite parents interested in a Christian High School Education for their children to consider Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School in Evansville, Illinois.
