Greetings in Christ,

While it isn’t one of our readings for the weekend, as I started putting this week’s In Preparation together, I couldn’t help but think of Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 15 referencing God’s promises in Isaiah and Hosea:

54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

Isn’t that beautiful? Death was defeated by Christ and as we put on Christ in baptism we inherit that victory.

This weekend is the final weekend in our sermon series all about the I AM statements of Jesus in John’s Gospel account. Take a moment to look back through the context of our Gospel text in John 11 where Jesus says, “I AM the resurrection and the life….”

We’ve talked about all of the ways Jesus provides for and loves us and now we finish the series with our Christian hope…the resurrection.

As you prepare for the Divine Service this weekend, you can take a look at the Service Folder to find the readings, prayers, and other parts of the service that will help to guide your reflection and prayer.

If you weren’t able to join us for service last week, you can catch up now.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Blessings on your day!

In Christ,
Pastor Demski
