Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro is coordinating a disaster relief—mission trip to Panama City, Florida on November 25 to December 1. Immanuel will be driving down so volunteers can ride with them. There is a lot of work that still needs to be done—tree and debris removal, roofs tarped, work in the distribution center, and feeding the workers (there is work for both men and women). Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro is coordinating a mission trip to that area November 25 to December 1. We will leave Immanuel at 7:00 a.m on 11/25 after a blessing from Pastor Hoem. We will return December 1. Immanuel has two volunteers that will be driving crew cab trucks that can hold up to three additional volunteers each. Volunteers will need their own twin size linens and pillows. There is electricity and A/C, as well as water. There are segregated beds for women volunteers. A kitchen is available but we will be required to cook our own meals. We have requests in for non-perishable foods, as well as water and Gatorade. Any additional donations will be welcome.

There is tons of work to be done—tree and debris removal, roof tarps and work in the distribution center. Immanuel has four chainsaws available. Depending on number of volunteers, additional chainsaws may be needed. The use of a skid steer, especially with a clamshell bucket would be invaluable. Immanuel has a vehicle capable of pulling a trailered skid steer should someone be willing to donate use. Volunteers are asked to bring their own personal tools such as gloves, hammers, carpenter belt, or any special needs they may have. Volunteers should have sturdy foot wear, especially boots.

As can be seen, there is plenty of work for both male and female volunteers.
